Pricing, Cost Comparison, & Payments
Pay in Crypto
- All DAO LLC fees can be paid in most cryptocurrencies or fiat.
- For-Profit DAO LLCs with taxes due (learn more about for-profit taxes here) can also pay their taxes in most cryptocurrencies or fiat.
- See Payment Methods for the full list of accepted chains, wallet addresses, and fiat options.
All Inclusive
- Unlike most other registered agents and registries, MIDAO does not charge you every time you have a question, need a certified document, or need to conduct a new filing. The prices and services listed on our website include everything you might need from us.
- All our prices include all government fees and MIDAO fees combined. There are no hidden fees!
- The one cost that is separate from MIDAO's fees: For-Profit DAO LLCs pay the RMI's 3% gross revenue tax directly to the government (Non-Profit DAO LLCs are tax-exempt).
Discounts for Smaller Projects
- MIDAO's one-time registration fee starts at $9.5k. However, depending on the client's treasury size and funding there are needs-based discounts available.
- We offer discounts because we hope this means you can set up your entity as soon as possible before raising money or launching a token, which can carry additional risk for founders if no legal entity is in place.

Lower Cost Compared to Swiss, Cayman, BVI, and Other Entities
The structures crypto projects most often compare against an RMI DAO LLC all require paying mandatory local service providers — licensed registered offices, corporate secretaries, nominee directors or council members, auditors — on top of formation itself. What that actually costs, according to independent providers and published fee schedules (as of July 2026):
| Jurisdiction & structure | One-time setup | Ongoing (per year) | Biggest cost drivers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marshall Islands DAO LLC (MIDAO) | $9,500 all-inclusive | $2,000–$5,000 | None beyond MIDAO's fee — no local directors, nominees, law firm, or physical presence required |
| Cayman Islands Foundation Company | $18,500+ | $5,575+ | Licensed registered office & secretary; outsourced director/supervisor roles run ~$2,500/yr each |
| Swiss Foundation (Stiftung) | $23,500+ formation, plus | $11,500+ | Mandatory capital dedication before formation; accounting, audit, and supervisory fees |
| Swiss Association (Verein) | ~$2,500–$7,400 | ~$5,100–$18,200 | Cheaper on paper, but not DAO-purpose-built — bespoke legal drafting comes on top |
| BVI Business Company | $1,500–$3,500 | $1,100–$2,850 | Bare shell only — no DAO governance structure or drafting; VASP licensing (if needed) adds far more |

- The Swiss Foundation's CHF 50,000 is capital the foundation must hold rather than a fee — but it is cash you must commit before formation is approved.
- Comparisons above are for pure DAO governance/treasury formation. Custody or exchange-type activity triggers licensing (Cayman VASP, Swiss SRO/AML, BVI VASP) that raises costs substantially in every jurisdiction — including additional obligations for an RMI entity.
